FILM REVIEWS:

At its core, this film touches on some very clever, memorable and fascinating topics: like the detail about the charcoal iron, to the baby elephant story, a chat on comfort zones, existence, the thought about defense funds, the environment, finance and war. - THE BLACK LIST

One of the most impressive aspects of the film is the way that it flows through the various topics of conversation so seamlessly. It crosses a ton of subjects, has heavy and humorous moments alike, and is quite thought provoking from beginning to end. -THE BLACK LIST

Some very intriguing twists and turns in the main conversation between Zain and Ali. Zain's character feels quite interesting, as we learn more about how he became a screenwriter. The backstory about where Zain and Ali came from (Rwanda) is a well thought out addition to their roles/dynamic. -THE BLACK LIST

This film is admirably ambitious in the ideas it takes on: it explores highly relevant, urgent topics such as racism in America, poverty, the creation of art, failure, love jealousy, and hatred. Zain’s description of his visit to Rwanda is interesting: it is fascinating to imagine him observing the life he could easily have led, and to consider the ways in which the horrors of the Rwandan genocide have impacted the life he leads now. -THE BLACK LIST
